Welcome to Bacup Camera Club. We are a small group of amateur photographers based in the mill town of Bacup, located in the Rossendale District of Lancashire. We are very much part of the Bacup community and membership is open to any person over the age of 16 (or 15 if you are a year 11 student). We welcome new members of any level of experience so whatever sort of camera you use, please browse through our site and consider joining us if you think we meet your needs.
There is a new photography exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery. Britain as Revealed by International Photographers, curated by the iconic British photographer Martin Parr, is a timely consideration of how international photographers from the 1930s onwards have captured the social, cultural, political and topographical identity of the UK through the camera lens. From social documentary and street photography, to portraiture and architectural photography by some of the leading 20th century photographers.

Peter Williams recently brought our attention to the Macphun website which has a number of articles on astro photography. They are at the bottom of page 7 of their blog and most of page 8. The links are here and here. Their article on how to photograph the Milky Way is here.
Two more ‘night links’ from our esteemed chairman:Link 1; Link 2.
If you would like any of these links to be permanent features on our website please let me know.
Please note revised syllabus with new exhibition and AGM dates!
